'Room for you' foundation

My name is Mishelle Almeida I have been a decorator for 12 years. I am the owner – operator of Misha Interiors; a local decorating firm specializing in home staging and room make-overs.

I was looking for a way to give back,  to brighten someones life the best way I knew how.  I found the Fresh Start After Divorce Mentoring Program.  I am on the panel of experts for this site giving decorating advice and tips to help women get through this trying time and make a Fresh Start, beginning with their own home.  It's important to create a retreat in your home, a place you can go to recharge your batteries that you love and is a brings you comfort. I want to be able to give that peace to others; to help them be better mothers, to strengthen their families and our community; one room at a time.

Therefore, I started my foundation, ‘Room for You’ and have partnered with The Fresh Start After Divorce Mentoring Program and the Happy Wednesday Foundation. Together we hope to give these families hope, peace and a fresh start, by re-designing a deserving person’s room. We want to create a room for them that is a retreat. A place they can relax and re-group to help them get through a difficult time and to know they are not alone. We are here for them.

The ‘Room for You’ foundation also hopes to extend this gift to the families of our troops serving over-seas. It is our wish to bring a smile to the face of a young child whose parent has been deployed by giving them a ‘cool’ new room, or to a spouse who’s awaiting a loved ones safe return and can’t wait for the homecoming. 

This is a small way we can give back and make a dramatic difference in the life of those in our community who need us to help them stay positive during difficult times.
